How?
Call 1-800-275-4932 option 4 for Loyalty services, then 1 for upgrade program.

Price of drive
- includes shipping
- there are no taxes
- there is no duty. Majority of drives ship from within Canada
- if charged duty WD will reimburse you
- all amounts are in USD

Shipping
- via UPS Ground
- billing and shipping addresses can be different
- the drives are shipped from within Canada, however some have reported that their's came from the US (if you get charged taxes WD will reimburse you)

How many can I order?
- you need a unique S/N for every drive you want
- you can order as many drives as you want (well within reason) on one phone call as long as you have unique S/Ns for each

What drives do they have?
- They have over 30 different models available. the popular ones in this thread are the 400GB SATA, 320GB SATA, and the 36GB Raptor.

WD3200JD SATA 150 MB/s 7200rpm 320gig 8.9 ms 8 MB cache $89
WD2500JD SATA 150 MB/s 7200 250 8.9 ms 8 MB $65
WD3200JB EIDE 100 MB/s 7200 320 8.9 ms 8 MB $97
WD2500JB EIDE 100 MB/s 7200 250 8.9 ms 8 MB $65
WD4000KD SATA 150 MB/s 7200 400 8.9 ms 16 MB $143
WD2500SB EIDE 100 MB/s 7200 250 8.9 ms 8 MB $77
WD360GD SATA 1.5 Gb/s 10,000 36 4.5 ms 8 MB $82

New drive comes with warranty (3 yrs/5 yrs for Raptor's)

Also see:
https://websupport.wdc.com/store/upgrade/products.asp

How much are they?
- See above
- For other drives simply call them or email them and they will tell you if its available and how much they are.

S/N
- you need a S/N from a WD drive
- you do not need to send in the old drive
- any warrenty on the old drive will be invalidated
- drives w/o any warrenty is valid
- To get the s/n off of a drive in your machine you can use WD's Datalifeguard tools:

When will it end?

- No set date. It's not a sale but an ongoing customer loyalty program. WD can terminate it at any time, however its been in operation for quite a while now.

Mod Edit : marked up used Serial numbers. Thanks for a great deal!

They are not suppose to charge you shipping, call them and they will refund your shipping charge.

I ordered 2 drives and both are free shipping, it's part of their customer loyalty plan.

I didn't order online, but as per Khulit they charged him for shipping.

I would call them up and place the order, it's free shipping for sure and no duty.

Yup, I called them and they say they'll be "cancel" the $7 dollars... I'll be checking my credit card bill in a couple of days to make sure they don't charge me the shipping..

Thanks!

I wondering how much in canadian dollars my bill would be... (i.e. pcfinancial's exchange rate)

Most of the SATA drives that you listed are not there anymore, only the 400GB ($143), 160GB ($61), 80GB ($44), 40GB ($41)... as for the EIDE 320GB ($97), 250GB ($65), 160GB ($64), 120GB ($61), 80GB ($40), 40GB ($39)...

The rest are SATA RAID (320GB for $77, 250GB for $64, 120GB for $70), Raptors, and laptop HD...

Would the SATA RAID work in desktop SATA?

RRKnight - thanks a lot for posting this deal, just ordered a couple of nice drives, using the two last serial numbers on your list.

The 320 GB EIDE RE model is one of the best buys - it's the 'Raid Edition' (RE), for Entreprise use, and comes with 5 years warranty, plus it's priced to sell at only US$77 each. :D

Thanks so much, a tip is being sent right after I finish this message.

I ordered thru the Webpage, easier than via phone, maybe I will call them and ask for a refund on the shipping charges.

Great Deal!

Yes for sure, is he part of this forum too?
I was just sharing it with the people on this forum.

But thanks for coming out.

However, I was nice enough to supply the S/N.

Just called WDC and found out that Shipping costs (US$7 for one drive, $3 more for an extra one) will be charged if you use the ONLINE ordering. No shipping charge if ordering via the phone system, at this time, subject to change.

The Tech also mentioned they WILL COVER brokerage fees if the drive come from the US (With UPS as a carrier, it can be a painful surprise!).

According to the information they provide, it says that it should be only used for server applications but I really dont see why it cant be used in a desktop at home.

I asked the guy if the RAID drives could be used for desktop use and he said no but I don't think he was 100% sure of it.
