A bunch of my son's friends want to try go karting. Any good tracks around? There's one at the Dock's but it seems expensive. I figure there must be some, east of Toronto is fine too, like Pickering or Whitby, something like that. I'm in Scarborough and Mississauga seems too far away. Thanks for any tips!

Family Kartways of Whitby was one of the largest in Ontario, but it went under. There are several others in the GTA, though. I recommend #8.

1) Kartworld at the Docks
This exciting new course is designed for drivers of all ages and experience. The track is 1.2 km and our karts go up to 40 km/h. 40 Karts including singles and doubles.

Minimum Rider height is 132 cm, and drivers must be 12 yrs old to drive solo. Younger/shorter drivers may ride with an adult (18+) in a double kart.

toronto2001, if you go to Formula Kartways they have coupons you can pick up at their front counter for 5 free laps. The coupon is good until August 31.

Centennial Park Mini-Indy is another great go-kart track!

Oh and don't forget about the Nascar SpeedPark at Vaughan Mills.

Thanks to both of you. Turns out they went to the Docks anyway and had a hoot. On Mondays there you pay for 7 laps and get 10, so they split the free laps up and divided the money spent among the group so that they all got 7 laps but each person paid less than the rate. I don't know how they figured it out but they are all in this 'whiz' high school and are all honour roll students. LOL

That Vaughan track seems awesome, I will have to head up there to check it out. I can't figure out how the one price ticket would work, unless it's like Wonderland where you pay the fee and wait for hours in line. There must be a limit to the number of laps per driving session. It must be a huge track.

Thanks again.
